Green silicon carbide
Green silicon carbide is made from petroleum coke and high-quality silica as the main raw materials, adding salt as an additive, and smelted at high temperature in a resistance furnace. Green silicon carbide is with green color, high hardness, strong cutting ability, stable chemical properties, and good thermal conductivity. High purity, brittleness, microhardness 3280-3400ŠK/mm2. The green silicon carbide abrasive tools made of it are suitable for processing materials with high hardness and brittleness. Green silicon carbide's hardness is between corundum and diamond, and its mechanical strength is higher than that of corundum. Mainly used for grinding hard gold tools. Green silicon carbide contains more than 99% SiC and has good self-sharpening properties. It is mostly used for processing cemented carbide, titanium alloy, and optical glass, as well as for grinding cylinder liners and fine grinding high-speed steel tools. |
