Chrome corundum abrasive (pink corundum/pink fused alumina) is an ¦Á Al2O3-Cr2O3 solid solution formed by industrial alumina powder, chromium oxide powder, and a small amount of spinel (not added) after being melted at a high temperature of 2200℃ in an electric arc furnace. Because of its purple or pink appearance, chromium corundum is also called artificial red corundum (ruby). Chromium corundum has physical properties similar to white corundum. After adding chromium oxide, the toughness of the crystal is improved, and it has a better finish when used for sandblasting and polishing.
Chrome corundum abrasive is one of the excellent quality abrasives. It is suitable for polishing some cemented carbide, metal and non-metal materials. It has the advantages of fewer impurities, no dyeing, and a high finish. Chromium corundum is also used to make some abrasive products, such as chromium corundum grinding wheels, chromium corundum grinding heads, used for polishing and grinding some high-strength materials such as alloy steel, carbon steel, and high-speed steel. The grinding efficiency and finish are better than white corundum.
Chromium corundum has a high viscosity and good permeability resistance due to its high viscosity and good permeability resistance, which can prevent the erosion and penetration of molten slag to a large extent.
